frequently asked questions

Your questions, Answered.

Finding the perfect photographer and photo coverage for your wedding day can be tough, and there are so many questions to ask about style, policies, protection, and more! Here are some of my frequently asked questions and my answers to them! If you have a question that isn’t on this list, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!

You are the star of your day here, not me. Your wedding/photoshoot is about you, so I don’t work off of a list of cheesy, overdone shots and poses. Instead, my focus is on capturing candid emotions and moments that tell your story and creating photographs that fit your style and personality.

Honestly, this is a tricky question to answer without knowing more about the two of you and your wedding plans, but I do always help you and/or your wedding planner prepare your wedding day timeline to make sure we have plenty of time to capture the images that are most important to you. Candid, emotive, and fun! I shoot with bright, vibrant colors and create photos that are a mix of classic and modern. I stick to clean, crisp edits so that your photos will never go out of style.

I absolutely do. There is no barrier to entry for photography, meaning that anybody with a camera can call themselves a photographer. However, you can rest assured that I am a professional, legal business and that you are protected when you hire me. My studio carries liability insurance, and if your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know so I can provide them with a copy.

My name is on the business, so I will always be your photographer! All of my full-day wedding collections include two photographers. I know how important this day is, and having a second team member ensures that every beautiful moment and angle is captured. For branding sessions, I'm your gal, but I do often have an assistant helping me on set.

A signed contract and retainer books my services and reserves your day on my calendar. The contract will outline terms for both of us and will set your remaining payment schedule. I am happy to walk through the contract terms with you at your consult. Cash, check, and credit/debit are accepted.

Most weddings book a year to a year and a half in advance. Some dates and months are busier than others, and I can only hold a date with a signed contract and retainer, so it’s best to book as far ahead as you can to secure your date.

For branding/headshot sessions, I recommend planning 1-2 months in advance to allow plenty of time to plan and prepare.

Yes! All digital images delivered with be edited for consistent color, exposure, tone, and select black & white edits. Any photos purchased in print will receive retouching to correct or remove any blemishes, bruises, flyaway hairs, exit signs, etc. Upgrades are available to include extensive retouching and signature art edits.

While you’re honeymooning in newlywed bliss, I’ll be editing away on your photos. We’ll schedule your Reveal Party to come see your photos in advance, so you’ll know exactly when you’ll see them for the first time! Reveals typically take place about 4 weeks after the wedding, but that can vary based on both of our schedules and the date you select.

Branding sessions receive final images within 2 weeks of image selection after your session.

We go with the flow, baby! Weather happens, and as a professional, I’m ready for anything. I always have alternate locations for shooting. No matter if it’s raining, snowing, or 113° (hopefully not!), I’m going to adapt to the surroundings and get you some amazing photos, so you don't have to worry about a thing! I also bring along a set of clear umbrellas for you and your wedding party, and I have hand warmers to help you stay toasty in cold weather!

Hell yeah, I love to travel! I’m always up for an adventure outside of St. Louis, whether it’s across the state, across the country, or across the world. I don't charge travel expenses to photograph in the St. Louis or Kansas City metro areas, but for destination locations, there is an additional fee for travel expenses. I am happy to discuss options with you, and you can get in touch with me here!

While the equipment doesn’t matter as much as the person behind the camera, I do use the latest professional full-frame cameras and lenses (Team Canon!). I always carry back-up cameras and lenses, as well as extra flashes, memory cards, batteries, etc. My gear is regularly maintained and updated to ensure that it stays in tip-top shape to help me create beautiful photographs. If you want specifics, I will happily geek out for hours with you about gear!
