Love is Not Canceled

Olivia reached out to me in March right before St. Louis shut down for Covid-19. She and Aaron had been planning to travel to Colorado to get married in April, but with so many uncertainties and concerns about traveling, they opted to stay in St. Louis and have a backyard micro wedding instead. Unfortunately, as restrictions tightened in both Missouri and Illinois, they had to change their wedding date, too. They got lucky in May, and restrictions loosened enough to allow them to gather (and me to photograph) with their closest family and friends for an intimate, outdoor ceremony in Aaron’s parents’ backyard.

Olivia & Aaron’s Backyard Micro Wedding

With so many changes in plans and uncertainties surrounding their wedding, Olivia & Aaron’s wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was a gorgeous, sunny day for an intimate, lake-side wedding ceremony. Olivia got ready with help from her mom and Maid of Honor while Aaron and his Best Man made sure they were set up to record the wedding ceremony for all of their family and friends who couldn’t attend to be able to watch.

Olivia looked stunning, and her look was completed by sparkly Kate Spade Keds and the necklace her mother wore when she got married. Aaron looked quite dapper in his pin-striped suit, and even though this wasn’t the wedding they originally planned, the excitement these two shared to be getting married definitely showed!

Once the ceremony was ready to begin, the small group gathered in the middle of the yard, with the sun shining through the trees and geese watching in the distance. Olivia was walked down the aisle by her father, and she and Aaron said their vows on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May. Once the rings were exchanged, the “I do”s spoken, and the first kiss nailed, they chatted with their small group of guests and we took some group photos. Then, Olivia and Aaron had some time to themselves for photos and celebrating their marriage with the geese that were hanging around giving the happy couple some congratulatory honks.

I’m so glad that I was able to be a part of Olivia & Aaron’s wedding, and I love that they could still celebrate their marriage together with the people who matter most to them!
