Courtney & Don’s St. Louis Wedding at The Caramel Room

Courtney & Don’s wedding was extra special because I was not only present for their “I do’s,” but I was also there when Courtney first said, “Yes!” So cool, right?! Courtney & Don’s wedding journey began during the 2017 solar eclipse and ended with one helluva party at The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s.

Tower Grove Park First Look

After getting ready separately, Courtney & Don opted for a First Look in Tower Grove Park. We found a secluded spot so that the two of them could share an intimate moment seeing each other for the first time. Their wedding party joined us in the park shortly after for some group photos, then the whole group traveled to Urban Chestnut Brewing Company in Midtown for some beers and photos!

Rooftop Wedding Ceremony

Once the group was properly hydrated and shot, we made our way downtown to The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s to prepare for Courtney and Don’s wedding ceremony. The ceremony was held on the rooftop terrace, which boasts a gorgeous view of the city to the west and overlooks the Mississippi River to the east. Despite the winds trying to blow plants over and a large group of very loud bikers riding by on the highway, the ceremony went off without a hitch, and Courtney & Don were married!

Caramel Room Wedding Reception

Every single part of their reception was a blast, and they weren’t afraid to mix things up a bit! Instead of cake, they served ice cream for dessert, they danced with their parents first before sharing their energetic first dance to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top,” and then they partied the night away with some truly amazing dance moves! And of course, before the evening was over we had to take some photos on the rooftop in front of the famous Bissinger’s sign! As I was setting up lights I happened to glance over at the happy couple, and they were just snuggled up together dancing, and this candid shot ended up being my absolute favorite from the whole day! This wedding was definitely one for the books!
