In true 2020 fashion, Nelly and Eric’s elopement was not their initial plan. However, they decided they didn’t want to spend the next year worrying about planning and would rather just get married now and begin their new life together! So, they put together the sweetest St. Louis elopement in their Central West End apartment building with their parents and closest friends (and live-streamed the whole thing on Zoom!) and said their vows!
After getting ready separately, Nelly, Eric, and I headed to Forest Park for their first look. It was a gorgeous, late-September Friday afternoon, and the park was full of people enjoying the weather. I had scouted this beautiful location near the couple’s apartment, and Nelly and Eric were both giddy with excitement to see each other. They took each other in and hugged as a group of runners stopped to cheer them on. It was absolutely adorable.
After taking the sweetest portraits of the two of them, Nelly and Eric headed back to The Orion’s clubhouse to say their vows. While they couldn’t invite nearly as many people as they wanted, their parents and closest friends gathered to witness the ceremony, and Eric set up a Zoom live-stream for their other honored guests to take part virtually. Their beautiful ceremony, officiated by a close friend, featured kind and inspiring words from their guests and many joyful tears. Once they said their “I dos,” exchanged rings, and shared their first kiss, Nelly and Eric enjoyed their evening spending time with all of their favorite people, both in-person and on Zoom.
I was honored to be able to capture and celebrate Nelly and Eric’s elopement with them, and I am so thrilled that they have these photos to remember this momentous occasion (and year) forever!
