Indie St. Louis Wedding in Tower Grove Park – Harper & Mark

An Indie St. Louis Wedding–October 5, 2019

Harper and Mark had such a fun, chill wedding, and I’m so excited to share their day! Their indie St. Louis wedding took place in Tower Grove Park for their ceremony, and then the party moved over to The Preston at The Chase Park Plaza for dinner and drinks. Luckily for all of us, a rainy morning turned into sunshine and an absolutely stunning sunset just in time for some portraits of the happy couple!

Getting Ready

I met up with Harper in her room at The Chase while she took it easy and laid out all of her details for the day. Her room was calm and quiet, and even as rain started falling outside we chatted as she had her make-up done and enjoyed some college football on tv. While I documented Harper’s morning getting ready, my second shooter met up with Mark at his and Harper’s home near the park. I really love the separate images of the two of them getting ready, and I love the story they tell of who they both are as individuals!

First Look & Portraits

The rain ended right before we left for Harper and Mark’s first look, and as we arrived at Tower Grove Park the sun finally peaked out from behind the clouds! The couple opted to not have a wedding party, so they had an intimate afternoon in the park together walking around, laughing, taking photos, and getting more excited to go say their vows and get married! We held out for some sunset portraits in the park after their ceremony, too, and it did not disappoint!

–By the way, if you happen to be wearing a wedding dress while standing on a busy intersection, you get A LOT of love from people driving by!

The Ceremony–The Music Stand in Tower Grove Park

It could not have been a more perfect evening to have an outdoor wedding ceremony! Harper and Mark’s early October wedding still had a lot of green in the grass and trees, which fit perfectly with their greenery motif! Instead of a flower girl and ring bearer, Mark’s niece and nephew walked down the aisle handing out tiny dinosaurs (I got a Stegosaurus!) before Harper and her father walked down the tree-lined path to the music of a string duo. Harper then met Mark at steps of The Music Stand Pavilion where they would exchange vows and finally say, “I do!”

The Reception–The Preston at The Chase Park Plaza

After family portraits and sunset portraits, we traveled back over to The Chase for a dinner and drinks reception at The Preston. The couple selected this spot because they love eating here, and I totally understand why (Cody and I ate here for our anniversary this year because I loved the food so much)! The bride and groom walked into their happy hour to little fanfare (exactly what they wanted) and grabbed some drinks before sitting down together in a big, cozy booth. After a few sweet and emotional toasts from their family and friends, dinner and dessert were served and enjoyed. As everyone finished up their food, I snuck off with Harper and Mark to grab a few more fun portraits that gave them a few minutes alone before joining their guests for some more drinks and the after-party!

I loved all of the personal touches Harper and Mark incorporated into their indie St. Louis wedding, and I think their day perfectly represented them! I’d love to celebrate your day with you your way, so send me a message if you’re planning your own indie St. Louis wedding! Now…onto the rest of the photos!
