Between the crazy St. Louis weather all winter and Covid, it’s nice to get out and enjoy a park on a beautiful, sunny, spring day! It’s even better when you get to enjoy a park with a really fun, super cute couple! Rachel and Pablo’s Lafayette Park engagement photos combined some of my favorite things all in one shoot: rad humans, plants, ducks, and booze!
We had actually schedule Rachel and Pablo’s engagement photos for the week before, but thanks to this crazy-ass St. Louis weather and delayed shipping on Rachel’s stunning dress, we decided to push the session back in hopes of warmer weather and sun. The wait paid off! We arrived at Lafayette Park with the sun shining through the budding trees, fresh flowers emerging from the spring grass, and a warm, gentle breeze in the air. It was amazing. Rachel and Pablo dressed to the nines, and their outfits fit perfectly with the architecture of Lafayette Square.
The magnolia trees were still in bloom, so we started with some photos beneath a tree before making our way through the park for a leisurely stroll and more photos. As we walked down near the pond and bridge on the east side of the park, we saw some ducks and turtles enjoying their time in the park, as well. Although Rachel and Pablo thought they looked awkward in pictures they absolutely nailed their engagement pictures, and cuddling up together and being cute came so, so naturally to them! As the sun began to set, we wrapped up our shoot in one of my favorite way: popping some bubbles (the sparkling wine variety, not the soapy kind) in the middle of the street!
Rachel and Pablo’s Lafayette Park engagement photos show off their relationship so well: full of love, compassion, and laughs! It was an absolutely wonderful evening in the park with them, and I can’t wait to do it again at their wedding this summer!
