St. Louis Engagement Photos in Francis Park – Lindsey & Dan

Summer is here in St. Louis, and luckily for Lindsey and Dan (and me!), we had some beautiful weather for their St. Louis engagement photos! We were planning on a spring engagement session for these two, timed perfectly for their fall wedding, but had to wait for summer thanks to being on lockdown. Though we couldn’t use some of their location ideas, Lindsey and Dan’s summer St. Louis engagement photos still look amazing, and we had so much fun spending the morning together!

St. Louis Engagement Photos in Francis Park

Lindsey and Dan’s second date was in Francis Park, and they both used to live near the park. They used to walk their dog, Izzy, in the park together often. They recently bought a new house and no longer love near Francis Park, but they wanted to celebrate those early days of their relationship by having their engagement session there!

We started their late morning session outside hoping to beat the afternoon sun and heat, and the weather was absolutely perfect! For summer in St. Louis, we got quite lucky and had a beautiful, sunny day: perfect hanging out in the park weather! We had plenty of time to walk around, enjoy the fresh air, and take some photos while we chatted! Once we got everything at the park, it was time to move to location #2!

At Home with the Pup

Just in case it’s your first time here, I’m going to let you in on a little “secret”: I love dogs. All of the dogs. So when I suggested to Lindsey that we shoot half of their session in their new home and she “warned” me about their dog Izzy, I was still totally on-board! I am ALWAYS up for photos with pups! ALWAYS.

Izzy wasn’t as sure about me being awesome as I was about her, but after some good belly and ear rubs, we were bffs. Lindsey and Dan changed clothes and got comfy on the couch for more photos while Izzy burned off some energy outside. We talked about books and coffee (and dogs) before letting the fuzzbutt, as Lindsey and Dan affectionately call her, back inside to join us.

The weather was still amazing, so we actually ended up back outside to enjoy it and finish up our session while Izzy ran around and joined in on a few more photos (but only when she felt like it)!

My favorite part about including dogs in engagement photos is the outtakes. Even the best doggy models DGAF and end up doing whatever the hell they want, and those photos may not win me any awards, but I always love them. Scroll down for the crazy dog outtakes, because Izzy did not disappoint!
