Summer Engagement Photos in St. Louis

Outdoor engagement photos in St. Louis in the summer can be so difficult to plan. It might be 75° and mostly sunny with a nice breeze, it might be 95° and stormy, it might be both in a matter of hours. For Katelyn and Will’s summer engagement photos, there was rain in the forecast all day, dreary cloudy skies, and a “nice” breeze. The good news with that was the rain held off, it was not miserably hot, and Forest Park was not the least bit crowded for their outdoor shoot!

Engagement Photos Where Katelyn Said, “Yes!”

Katelyn and Will wanted part of their session to take place in Forest Park because it’s not only a picturesque St. Louis staple, but it’s also where Will popped the question! We began their engagement photos at the top of Art Hill, with the newly planted wildflowers in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. The bright, colorful array of flowers perfectly complemented their coordinating outfits, and it was the perfect backdrop for a summer engagement session! After shooting with the flowers, we walked along Art Hill to the spot where Will got down on one knee (or in his case, nervously and accidentally on both knees) to propose to Katelyn. For a couple who claimed to be awkward in photos, they looked perfectly comfortable and in love posing together, and we created some absolute magic in the park!

Fun Engagement Photos in The Grove

In addition to photos in Forest Park, Katelyn and Will wanted a location with a little more edge and color. So we headed to The Grove! As the sun began to set, the happy couple loosened up and decided to unleash their badass sides a bit (while still looking absolutely adorable together, I might add). Katelyn grabbed her leather jacket from the car, and we strolled around The Grove a bit as the streetlights came on and added the exact vibe we were looking for. These two brought the perfect mix of engaged AF and IDGAF attitudes to these photos, and the end result did not disappoint at all!

Katelyn and Will’s summer engagement photos will go great with their winter wedding in January, and I love that we’re going to have the two contrasting looks between their engagement session and wedding! Their love will look great in any season!
