The leaves here keep changing later and later in the fall, but Carolyn and Roy lucked out and had the perfect autumnal color palette for their beautiful October wedding in St. Louis! They also got lucky that the rain in the forecast stayed away and they stayed dry all day! While the skies may have been grey and cloudy, these two were bright and sunny as they celebrated their beautiful St. Louis October wedding!
Carolyn and I bonded over our love of mustard (the color, not the condiment) at our initial meeting, and her use of the bright, cheery color in her and Roy’s details was the perfect accent to her white dress and his grey suit! The couple prepared for their wedding day in separate rooms at their hotel, opting to wait until their ceremony to see each other. They were both calm as they got dressed for the day, but both rooms had an air of nervous excitement. Carolyn did have an incredibly sweet first look with her dad once she was in her gown, and luckily they were both prepared with tissues!
Carolyn and Roy did not have a first look, but they did want to take a moment to pray together before walking down the aisle. We set them up around a corner so they could share this intimate moment together in prayer before their wedding ceremony without seeing each other, and it was one of the most beautiful moments of their day! As the ceremony began, their faces were filled with so much love and emotion while Carolyn walked down the aisle toward Roy. They said their vows, exchanged rings, and walked back down the aisle as husband and wife!
After the ceremony and family portraits at the church, the couple and their wedding party loaded their bus to head to Faust Park for more photos. Despite the cloudy day, the park still looked beautiful, and we got some great photos with the wedding party and the bride and groom. Upon arriving at the reception venue, Carolyn and Roy were able to enjoy their cocktail hour while we photographed all of the stunning details of the ballroom. The Best Man, Maid of Honor, and father of the bride gave the couple some really wonderful toasts, but the highlight of the evening was certainly the newlywed’s choreographed first dance! They had put so much care and practice into their dance (with some great practice during their engagement session, too!), and it showed because their dance was perfection!
