Piper Palm House & NEO on Locust Wedding – Ellen & Wil

Spring Wedding at Piper Palm House & NEO on Locust–March 22, 2019

Planning a wedding right at the start of spring can be tough because the weather could be literally anything. Luckily for Ellen and Wil, we had a beautiful, sunny day! Ellen & Wil had their wedding ceremony at Piper Palm House, which is a stunning venue in Tower Grove Park, and their reception was at St. Louis venue NEO on Locust. As a plant lover and a city girl, I was in absolute heaven with their wedding day locations!

Getting Ready in Tower Grove

Ellen got dressed with her bridal party at a nearby hotel, and everyone had a great time laughing and hanging out together while getting ready. I totally would have snuck off with her shoes if they had fit me (she had an extra pair of shoes, it totally would have been ok?), and she had the most gorgeous vintage jewelry and details! Wil prepared for the day at his brother’s house surrounded by his groomsmen before heading off to Tower Grove to get hitched!

Piper Palm House Wedding Ceremony

The excited couple wanted to wait until the ceremony to see each other, so Ellen hid inside Piper Palm House while Wil greeted guests and the string quartet played. After Ellen walked down the aisle, she and Wil were married surrounded by lush, green palm trees and their closest family and friends. Once the vows were said and the first kiss was had, we popped outside for some fresh, spring air and family portraits. As their guests made their way to the reception for cocktail hour, we got to spend some time enjoying the weather and taking portraits and candids outside in Tower Grove Park.

NEO on Locust Wedding Reception

Ellen and Wil chose the wonderful NEO on Locust for the reception, which has tons of string lights hanging across the ceiling. The warm glow of the lights really set the mood for the rockin’ dance party that happened later in the evening! Wanting to take advantage of the natural beauty of the venue, the couple kept the decor minimal and decorated each table with greenery, votives, and a monogrammed cake (I LOVE this idea!). After a tasty dinner, we heard some touching and hilarious speeches, then on to the dancing! These folks know how to get down, and between the dancing and the photo booth, we got some amazing candids of the party!

Since NEO has a rooftop with a great view of downtown St. Louis, the newlyweds and I snuck up there for a breather and some fun night portraits. The view was gorgeous, but it certainly couldn’t compete with how amazing the happy couple looked!
