Jen & Richard’s Vibrant MOBOT & Jewel Box Wedding

Jen and Richard had the most beautiful and vibrant summer wedding at MOBOT and Jewel Box in St. Louis, and I’m still swooning over how magical it was. I might be biased, but you really can’t go wrong with wedding colors that match your hair. The pinks and blues of their color palette paired perfectly with the bright greenery of the gardens, and the warm sunshine made everything pop just right! The only thing more radiant than the summer sun in St. Louis was the happy newlyweds sharing their love! (Yes, that was super cheesy, but I regret nothing.)

A Beautiful Wedding Day in St. Louis – 6/11/22

Jen and her bridesmaids began the day getting ready at Angad Arts Hotel, and their blue room provided such a stunning backdrop to these beautiful ladies adorned with pink. The bold room and window light provided just the right amount of glam and drama to go with Jen and her shimmering ballgown. Richard and his guys prepped for the day at his and Jen’s house, which came with plenty of puppy snuggles while they got ready.

Wedding Ceremony at Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis

Since Jen and Richard’s ceremony was at Missouri Botanical Garden, we had a ton of beautiful locations for photos, and an amazing ceremony site in the Japanese Garden overlooking the pond. The couple had their first look in the Boxwood Garden, where they were able to share a peaceful moment together before walking down the aisle. Their ceremony was so perfectly them, and I will add that this is the first wedding I’ve seen with f-bombs being dropped in the bride’s processional song!

Wedding Photos at MOBOT & Forest Park

We could have spent the entire day at MOBOT and not run out of beautiful locations for photos. Since we already had photos in the Boxwood and Japanese Gardens, we moved to the east side of the park for the rest of our photos with the wedding party and the newlyweds. We began with photos of Jen and Richard in the hedge maze, then added in their wedding party for some more fun. The group then got to go hang out in the air conditioning while Jen, Richard, and I made our way toward the entrance, stopping for photos along the way.

We then traveled to Forest Park for a few more photos before the reception. We were able to finish up our portraits in a nice, shady spot by the pond outside of the Jewel Box. We ended up with some unexpected extra time before cocktail hour and the reception began, so we didn’t have to rush through any of our photo time and Jen and Richard had some extra time to sit and relax inside with their wedding party before celebrating the night away with their guests.

Wedding Reception at Jewel Box in St. Louis

The Jewel Box is a plant lover’s dream, and the Art Deco design of the building and foliage all around fit wonderfully into the vibe and decor of Jen and Richard’s day. Their decor featured small vases of flowers, foliage, and monstera leaves to decorate the tables, and they chose to let the beauty of the greenhouse shine on its own. They shared a truly epic first dance in the middle of the venue, completely choreographed, and perfectly executed! Jen’s gown glittered and glistened in the light with each spin, and Richard nailed the final dip before they excitedly left the dance floor for cake!

As a wonderful nod to their own story together, their vegan wedding cake was decorated in an Art Deco pattern with a Star Wars cutout of Leia and Han Solo affixed to the top. Jen and Richard’s cake cutting was another fun highlight of the evening, as Jen dug right in with the knife with surgical precision and kept going back in for more, not wanting to waste a single crumb (a girl who understands me: eat ALL of the cake!).

As always, we ended the night with a “parting shot,” with the bride and groom cuddling together on the steps outside Jewel Box; a perfect ending to a perfect summer wedding!
