7 Tips to Kick Wedding Planning Stress to the Curb

Your engagement will fly by, and you want to make the most of enjoying time with your fiancé!  Planning a wedding is tons of fun, and when it’s all over you’ll be married to the love of your life!  Even with all the excitement and joy of starting your new life as a married couple, wedding planning can be very stressful. You have a lot of decisions to make together, and the number of options you have for everything is overwhelming.

Use these tips to kick wedding planning stress to the curb end enjoy your engagement!

1. Get a good planner

I’m not talking about a wedding planner here (though yes, hiring a wedding planner will help TONS!), you need a monthly/weekly planner. I love Rifle Paper Co.’s planners. The act of writing down your tasks helps take them off your mind and stay organized with your to-do list. This planner has monthly and weekly calendars and plenty of room to write down your daily plan. Break your wedding planning into monthly tasks, then you can plan out what needs to be done each week.

2. Stay organized

Put all of your wedding info in one place. Get a wedding binder/folder to keep all of your notes, checklists, vendor info, and contracts together. Staying organized and tidy with all of your planning info will seriously save your sanity, especially the closer you get to your wedding day!

3. Communicate

Keep an open and clear line of communication with your fiancé, families, and vendors. Be honest about what you want and your expectations. Miscommunications will cause way more stress and worry than necessary, so be clear with your desires, and don’t be afraid to voice your opinion.

4. Move your body

Running and yoga are great stress-relievers! If those aren’t your thing, maybe dance or take a nice, long walk a few nights a week (bonus relaxing points if you walk with your fiancé or dog)! Anything that gets your blood pumping and releases endorphins will clear your head and help you feel more at ease.

5. Treat yourself

Take a relaxing bath, get your nails done, have a girls’ night! Take a break from planning and have a self-care day to focus on yourself! Curl up with a book, light some lavender-scented candles, and let the world and stress fade away. You can also book a bridal boudoir session with me for the ultimate day of pampering and fun that will also give you a HUGE confidence boost!

6. Date night

Wedding planning shouldn’t be an everyday job. Enjoy being engaged and go out on dates! No wedding talk, just have fun together!

7. Focus on what matters most

Whenever the stress is hitting hard, just remember why you’re doing all of this planning in the first place: to marry the person you love. In the end, all that matters is the two of you starting your new life together as a married couple. Imagine all of the excitement and love you’ll experience on your wedding day, and let the stress just melt away!
