Frequently asked.

What makes you different from other photographers?

You are the hero of your day here, not me. Your wedding day is about you, so I don’t work off of a list of cheesy, overdone shots and poses. Instead, my focus is on capturing candid emotions and moments that tell your story and create photographs that fit your style and personality.

What is your photography style?

Candid, creative, and fun! I shoot with bright, bold colors and strive to create photos that are a mix of classic and modern. I stick to clean, crisp edits so that your photos will never go out of style.

Do you have a business license and insurance (and why is that important)?

I absolutely do. There is no barrier to entry for photography, meaning that anybody with a camera can call themselves a wedding photographer. However, you can rest assured that I am a professional, legal business and that you are protected when you hire me. If your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know so I can get in touch with your venue coordinator to provide that!

How many photographers will we have?

All of my collections include two photographers. I know how important this day is, and having a second team member ensures that every beautiful moment and angle is captured.

How do we reserve our wedding date?

A signed contract and retainer books my services and reserves your day on my calendar. The wedding contract will outline terms for both of us and will set your remaining payment schedule. I am happy to walk through the contract terms with you at your consult.

How far in advance to we need to book?

Most weddings book a year to a year and a half in advance. Some dates and months are busier than others, and I can only hold a date with a signed contract and retainer, so it’s best to book as far ahead as you can to secure your date.

Do you edit our photos?

Yes! All digital images delivered with be edited for consistent color, exposure, tone, and select black & white edits. Any photos purchased in print will receive retouching to correct or remove any blemishes, bruises, flyaway hairs, exit signs, etc. Upgrades are available to include extensive retouching and signature art edits.

When will we receive our photos?

While you’re honeymooning in newlywed bliss, I’ll be editing away on your photos. We’ll schedule your ordering party to come see your photos before your wedding even takes place, so you’ll know exactly when you’ll see them for the first time! Ordering parties typically take place about 4 weeks after the wedding, but that can vary based on both of our schedules and the date you select.

How many photos will we receive?

Since every wedding is different and I document to tell a story, the number of final images will vary. You can expect 50-100 photos per hour of coverage.

Do you have a list of preferred vendors to use?

I sure do! While you are in no way required to book them, I do have a group of vendors I highly recommend! From wedding coordinators to florists to DJs, I have worked with some of the best St. Louis wedding professionals and would be happy to share their information with you!

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

We go with the flow, baby! Weather happens, and as a professional, I’m ready for anything. I always have alternate locations for shooting. No matter if it’s raining, snowing, or 113° (hopefully not!), I’m going to adapt to the surroundings and get you some amazing photos!

Do you travel for weddings or engagements?

I love to travel! I’m always up for an adventure outside of St. Louis, whether it’s across the state, across the country, or across the world. I have no travel expenses to photograph in the St. Louis or Kansas City metro areas, but for destination locations, there is an additional fee for travel expenses. I am happy to discuss options with you, and you can get in touch with me here!

What equipment do you use?

While the equipment doesn’t matter as much as the person behind the camera, I do use the latest professional full-frame cameras and lenses (Team Canon!). I always carry back-up cameras and lenses, as well as extra flashes, memory cards, batteries, etc. My gear is regularly maintained and updated to ensure that it stays in tip-top shape to help me create beautiful photographs. If you want specifics, I will happily geek out for hours with you about gear!
